The Westchester Community Foundation, one of the largest funders of nonprofits in Westchester County, New York, has named Jennifer Hu Corriggio as its Director of Philanthropy and Donor Relations.
Corriggio will be responsible for leading the Foundation’s initiatives for donors seeking to make an impact through their philanthropy in Westchester and beyond. She will oversee advising donors and their families on their giving goals and help them implement the best strategies for their personal philanthropy.
“I am excited to join the Westchester Community Foundation, an organization that is making such a powerful impact,” said Corriggio. “My goal will be to help generous donors fulfill their philanthropic visions and make meaningful contributions in their communities.”
The Westchester Community Foundation is a division of The New York Community Trust, one of the oldest and largest community foundations in the country and the home of charitable New Yorkers who share a passion for the City and its suburbs. Since 1975 Westchester residents—from teachers to entrepreneurs—have made the Foundation’s work possible.
“In its 40-year history, the Westchester Community Foundation has prided itself on having an experienced, knowledgeable staff who work tirelessly to help educate the community on the importance of philanthropy and how they can give back in a meaningful way. Jennifer’s extensive background in philanthropy will further enhance our donor services and unique work within Westchester,” said Laura Rossi, Executive Director of the Westchester Community Foundation.
Corriggio is a graduate of Cornell University and Duke University School of Law. Most recently, she served as a Program Fellow at the nonprofit Bolder Giving, whose mission is to support more effective philanthropy and to inspire donors to maximize their philanthropic impact. Corriggio came to the philanthropic world with a specialty in nonprofit law, previously practicing law at Perlman & Perlman LLP, and serving as General Counsel to the nonprofit Child Education International, Inc. She also has a certificate in Grantmaking and Foundations from New York University’s Heyman Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising. Prior to working in the nonprofit world, Jennifer practiced corporate law and litigation, and taught as a legal academic. Corriggio is a resident of Scarsdale, New York.
Corriggio is an active member and volunteer of several nonprofit and philanthropic organizations including the Executive Committee of Greenburgh Nature Center’s Board of Directors, Pro Bono Partnership, the Asian Women’s Giving Circle, Solidaire Network, the International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy, Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy, and Asian American/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy.
