On June 16, the “Bird People,” an independent French movie was filmed at our client Heineken USA’s White Plains office. The film stars Josh Charles, of CBS’s The Good Wife, as an American who arrives in Paris, checks into a hotel, turns off his cell phone and starts his life anew.
The Producers loved Heineken USA’s recently renovated office space, in addition to the “all American view” it offered. “We are very pleased to be shooting scenes for the feature film Bird People at the Heineken Headquarters in White Plains. The renovations recently completed on the Heineken offices have provided for an exquisite set with views that represent America in its best light. The support we have received from Heineken, SLGreen/Reckson and the Westchester film commission is a great draw in bringing future films to Westchester,” said Darren Goldberg of Atlantic Pictures, the movie’s U.S. Producer.
According to Westchester County Tourism & Film, to date more than 150 films have been shot in Westchester County, NY since 1965; along with many HBO specials and numerous television series. Following is a link to a list of films shot in part or in their entirety in Westchester since 1965.
“It was a pleasure welcoming the Bird People cast and crew to our newly renovated and environmentally sustainable headquarters in downtown White Plains,” said Stacey Tank, Senior Vice President & Chief Corporate Relations Officer, HEINEKEN USA. “We enjoy calling Westchester County our home and are glad the Bird People will shine a spotlight on the beautiful local landscape.”
The producers hope to premiere Bird People at the Cannes International Film Festival in France next May. If all goes well, the movie may be in wide release by the end of next year or 2014.
