HEINEKEN USA and Atlantic Westchester Named an Honorable Mention Recipient in the 2015 Green Award, Presented by Morris Media Group
We are thrilled to have two of our clients recognized as an honorable Mention recipient in the 2015 Green Award, presented by Morris Media Group! HEINEKEN USA and Atlantic Westchester are two businesses in Westchester County committed to protecting the environment while also promoting green initiatives and a green lifestyle!
HEINEKEN USA, headquartered in White Plains, held a panel discussion in September with the Westchester Green Business Challenge to share how it leveraged the LEED certification of its New York offices to engage employees on sustainability. As a whole, HUSA’s products are created to help customers reduce their footprint. The innovative Brewlock keg is 100% recyclable and HUSA requires that all distributors pick up the Brewlock kegs and recycle them properly. They are then recycled into other beverage containers or used towards other products. The ability to recycle the Brewlock keg within the US leads to a significant carbon footprint reduction.
Atlantic Westchester, a commercial Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) service company, has made it a priority to become a more sustainable business; this can be seen in their enrollment in the Westchester Green Business Certification program. With the help of the WGB they have begun the process of tracking their usage in areas such as utilities, waste, fuel, water etc. With recycling and green products already implemented at Atlantic Westchester the additional information that they gain from tracking their overall usage will allow them to continue to increase their sustainability practices.
Congrats to all the winners and nominees and keep up the great work!
